DISHA – A Life School recently celebrated its Annual Day for the academic year 2025-26, a soul-stirring evening titled “Celebrate Life” The event was not merely a showcase of talent but a profound reflection on the simple, joyful moments that define our journey from childhood to adulthood.

A Tribute to Our Visionary

The evening began with a poignant moment of reflection as the DISHA family paid tribute to our beloved Late Chairman, Dr. D. Muthukumaraswamy. His vision remains the heartbeat of our institution, and his legacy continues to guide every student and teacher. Ms. Evangeline, Subject Lead for English, moved the audience with a heartfelt narration of his lasting impact on our school community.

We were honored to welcome our Chief Guest, Mr. M. Shanmuga Raja, a renowned film actor and the Founder/Director of Nigazh Theatre Centre. His inspiring address emphasized the power of art, storytelling, and expression in understanding society.

A Heartfelt Conclusion

As the evening drew to a close, Shiva Nethra (Grade 11), Deputy School Pupil Leader, delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the parents, staff, and students who made the event a resounding success. The Primary Sports Day at DISHA was a vibrant celebration of movement, teamwork, and joyful learning, bringing together students, parents, teachers, and guests for a memorable day filled with enthusiasm and cheer.

The programme began on a reflective note, grounding the day in gratitude and purpose, before unfolding into a colourful display of young energy and confidence. The majestic march past saw students step onto the field with pride — from the eager smiles of Prep I and Prep II to the confident strides of students from Grades 1, 2, and 3, marching as teams formed through their chosen sports electives.

The highlight of the day was the series of well-coordinated physical activity demonstrations. Students showcased their skills in Taekwondo, Football, Basketball, Cricket, Badminton, Swimming, Tennis, Volleyball, and Yoga. Each display reflected discipline, teamwork, and the joy of consistent practice, making it evident that sports at DISHA are not just activities, but an integral part of holistic education.

The event was honoured by the presence of our Chief Guest, Mr. Sasikumar, Motor Vehicle Inspector, Pollachi, whose journey of dedication and public service served as an inspiration to the young athletes. We were also privileged to welcome our Guest of Honour, Lion M. Kamalakkannan, Founder and Managing Trustee of Mayaa Public Charitable Trust and former Chief Traffic Warden of Coimbatore District, whose lifelong commitment to road safety, community welfare, and leadership added great value to the occasion.

One of the most joyful segments of the day was the Parents’ Event, which brought laughter, excitement, and enthusiastic cheering to the field. Parents participated wholeheartedly, reminding everyone that sports is a celebration best enjoyed together — strengthening the bond between school and home.

As the programme progressed through track events and interactive activities, the field echoed with encouragement, applause, and smiling faces. The day concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks and festive Pongal wishes, reflecting the spirit of gratitude and togetherness that defines DISHA.

The Senior Sports Day 2025–26 was celebrated with great enthusiasm and pride, reflecting the school’s strong commitment to physical excellence, discipline, and holistic development.

The occasion was honoured by the gracious presence of our esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. P. B. Muralikrishnan, whose encouragement and presence added significance and inspiration to the event.

The day commenced on a solemn and spirited note, setting the stage for a celebration that upheld the true essence of sportsmanship. The ceremonial proceedings unfolded with elegance, capturing the attention of students, parents, and dignitaries gathered on the ground.

A major highlight of the day was the March Past, where the four houses — DISHA Giants, DISHA Chargers, DISHA Raiders, and DISHA Patriots — marched with precision, unity, and unwavering determination. Their synchronised movements symbolised discipline, teamwork, and strong house spirit.

The Torch Relay stood as a powerful symbol of sporting excellence, carried by accomplished student-athletes who have brought honour to the school through their achievements at Zonal, Regional, and National levels. As the torch passed from one achiever to another, it ignited aspirations and reinforced the values of perseverance and commitment.

The track events showcased remarkable speed, endurance, and resilience, as students competed with focus and determination, earning points for their respective houses. The relay races, marked by seamless baton exchanges and coordinated effort, highlighted the importance of teamwork and trust in achieving collective success.

Adding vibrancy to the programme were the demonstrations of physical activities, which reflected strength, coordination, discipline, and creativity. These performances highlighted the effectiveness of the school’s structured physical education programme and its emphasis on nurturing diverse sporting talents.

The Parents’ Event added joy and enthusiasm to the celebration, with active participation from parents, strengthening the bond between the school and its parent community and making the day truly inclusive and memorable.
